Mission

Living Stones News, LLC is a free, monthly, non-denominational Christian publication whose purpose is to glorify God, to reach out to the unsaved, and to bring hope, encouragement, peace, and the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to our readers.

Connecting persons in the Christian Community with one another, we are currently, focusing on covering Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin.

Corinne Scott, Publisher/Writer/Columnist

Corinne Scott founded Living Stones News in December 2003. She is one of the writers and also writes the Holy Goose Bumps column. She graduated in 1985 from Georgia State University with a degree in journalism/public relations. She and her husband, Kent, live in Duluth, Minn and attend the Bayside Baptist Church in Superior, Wis. They have two adult children: Keldon and Kamala; a daughter-in-law, Sam; and two grandsons, Aaron and Adam. She loves to read, write and cook.

     
 
     

Christy Alten-Osmera, Photographer

Christy runs a small photography studio from her home in Doon, Iowa. When she isn't snapping weddings, graduations and portraits, she works as the program director for the Adolescent Unit at Keystone Treatment Center. Christy is a newlywed and her husband's name is Lynn. Her 16-year-old son, Zach, along with her 5-year-old daughter, Eliora, keep her hopping! Christy plays flute in the worship team at Family Worship Center and enjoys anything outdoors. To keep stress in check, Christy climbs the walls -- literally -- rock climbing with the family.

 

Darlene Anderson, Little Pebbles Editor

Darlene Anderson has edited the Little Pebbles page since January 2010. She and her husband, Arne, live between Two Harbors and Duluth, Minn. They attend Glen Avon Presbyterian Church in Duluth. The Andersons have three grown children and six grandchildren. Darlene graduated in 1968 from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL, majoring in Christian Education/Music. Currently she is working with Child Evangelism Fellowship as Ministry Development Coordinator for Minnesota and North Central District.

     
 
     

Sally Bair, Web Columnist

Sally writes a weekly column, Eternal Perspectives, for the Living Stones News web site. She makes her home in the great Northwoods of Wisconsin near Lake Superior. Sally began writing when she was 13 years old and is a writer of books as well as columns. She has three children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
 

 

Dave Ballard, Photographer

 Dave Ballard generously contributes his professional photography skills when Living Stones News has been in a bind and needs another photographer. He lives in Duluth, Minn., and is pastor of the Living Stones Fellowship. Dave is married to Rebecca and they have seven children.
 
     
 
     

Kandy Bauder, Writer/Columnist

Kandy Bauder is a writer and columnist for Moments Matter. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing in 1995 from South Dakota State University. Kandy and her husband, Terry, live in Sioux Falls, S.D. and have four children: Aaron (6-98), Jerrod (12-01), Analiese (8-03) and Jesalyn (8-05). The Bauders attend Living Word Free Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.

 

Kris Eggen, Distribution Manager

Kris Eggen has a teaching degree from the University of South Dakota. She currently works in Information Technology. Kris is married to Dave and they have three children. They attend Church at the Gate in Sioux Falls, S.D. Kris enjoys spending time with her family, reading, scrapbooking and walking. 

     
 
     

Dave Eggen, Photographer

Dave Eggen is a photographer for Living Stones News in Sioux Falls, S.D. He has been a professional photographer for 15 years and is owner of Inertia Sports Media. Dave is married to Kris and they have three children. The Eggens attend Church at the Gate in Sioux Falls. 

 

Tylor Elm, Web developer, Advertising/Graphics Designer, Computer Technician

Tylor has been with Living Stones News since its inception in 2004. He works part time at WWJC The Light, 850 AM. In 2005 he partnered with two others to join discoverpc.NET Computer Solutions Center in Superior, Wis., to expand his IT/Computer Repair business. His parents are Ted and Jackie Elm; he has one brother and one sister. Tylor attends Great Lakes Church in Duluth, Minn.

     
 
     

Dara Fillmore, Columnist/Writer

Dara Fillmore, from northwestern Wisconsin, has been writing the "One Rock Alone" column for teens as well as occasional articles since January 2005. She enjoys writing, art, working outdoors, raising chickens, playing folk instruments, training horses and sign language. She and her family like to play board games and cross-country ski. She is currently attending college to explore her interests in music, art and journalism. 

 

Karen Franczyk, Writer

Originally from Milwaukee, Wis., Karen Franczyk dreamed of living up North. She and husband, Tom, reside in Wentworth, Wis. They have four children, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. Karen completed The Writers Institute of America and Long Ridge Writers Group courses. She is active at Hillside Church and works for a home health care agency. She enjoys classic literature and tending her vegetable garden.
 
     
 
     

Dorene Gaard, Zone Distributor Manager

Dorene is the owner/stylist of Dorene’s Hair Flair in Sioux Falls, S.D. She has been married to Jim for 37 years. The Gaards have two children: Erik (deceased) and Matthew. They attend Living Word Free Lutheran Church. Dorene and Jim enjoy traveling, working in their yard and spending time with family and friends.
 

Chris Gillespie, Columnist

Chris Gillespie started writing his column, Gracerunner Journal, for Living Stones News in November 2010. Chris is founder and executive director of TEAM 413 – Gracerunner Ministries that encourages runners and other endurance athletes alike to run the race that God has placed in front of them. Chris is the director of Athletic Training Education at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., where he has worked for 29 years. He is married to Kiki and lives in Calera, Ala. He has two daughters: Morgan Gillespie,26, and Ashley Gillespie Binkley,24, and two stepchildren: Gerrit, 13, and Hannah, 11.
     
  
     

Gayle Gilmore, Columnist

Duluthian Gayle Gilmore has been writing morsels for the “tidbits” column since 2004. She is a registered nurse with master’s degrees in nursing and industrial safety and hygiene. Gayle and husband, Bob, have two adult children and one and one-half grandchildren. Interests include reading, music, knitting, cooking, gardening, hosting, traveling and quilting. The Gilmores attend Emmanuel Baptist in Duluth or The Resort Church in Mesa, AZ.

 

Grace Hebb, Proofreader

Grace Hebb has been Living Stones News's proofreader since 2004. She has an associate's degree in accounting and works for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Grace lives in Lake Nebagamon, Wis., has six daughters (one deceased), two sons, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Grace attends Whispering Pines Evangelical Free Church in Hawthorne, Wis. She enjoys working at church, painting, traveling, family and friends.
     
 
     

Bonnie Jordan - Photographer

Bonnie graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior in 2006 with a degree in art education and photography. Bonnie, her husband, Ryan, and their three children live in Superior, Wis. They attend Great Lakes Church in Duluth, Minn., where Bonnie is part of the worship team. "Worship is my favorite way of spending time with God." Bonnie is currently a stay-at-home mom and does photography for fun. "I really enjoy working with Living Stones News and being a part of its fantastic journey into peoples' lives."
 

Heidi Lynn-Holbeck, Photographer

Heidi Lynn-Holbeck is a photographer and writer. She earned an associate of arts degree and broadcasting degree from Lake Superior College. Heidi and her husbandk Jimk own Safe Harbor Board & Lodging, a shelter for those with mental illness and chemical dependency. She is blessed with a 19-year-old son and an 11-year-old stepdaughter. Heidi and her family attend Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors, Minn. She has enjoyed photography for 18 years and is currently attending classes for watercolor painting. 
     
 
     

Bill Miller, Advertising Sales

Bill Miller has been Living Stones News’ sales representative since 2004. Bill served 17 years managing Christian education materials in Duluth and Puerto Rico. Bill is the oldest of six children. Hel lives on the North Shore near Two Harbors, Minn. He attends Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors and is always looking for ministry opportunities.
 

Naomi Musch, Writer

Naomi writes for Living Stones News from Douglas County, Wis., where she and her husband, Jeff, enjoy epic adventures with their five young adults. Naomi is the author of the inspirational novel, “The Casket Girl,” and the upcoming “Empire in Pine” series. She also enjoys writing for the encouragement of homeschooling families. Kimberly Dawn Nyborg, Columnist

Kimberly Dawn Nyborg joined Living Stones News as a writer for Lessons from the Field column October 2010. She has been working in Christian radio in the “Icebox of the Nation” (International Falls, Minn.) for over 20 years, where she makes her home with husband Jerry. Their three children and seven grandsons are scattered around the state. She delights in sharing the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. www.verticalconnection.net.
 

Chad Phillips, Photographer

Chad Phillips is a photographer for Living Stones News. He and his wife, Becky own Great Plains Photography in Sioux Falls, S.D.: www.greatplainsphotography.com. They have two sons and attend The Point Church in Sioux Falls.
     
 
     

Kent Scott, Distribution Manager

Kent Scott has been Living Stones News’ distribution manager since 2004. He built bridges for 35 years and owned KSContracting for 17 years. He is retired and lives in Duluth, Minn., with Corinne, his wife for 50 years. They have two adult children: Keldon and Kamala; a daughter-in-law, Sam and two grandsons, Aaron and Adam. They attend Bayside Baptist Church in Superior, Wis. Kent bowls, golfs and plays computer games.
 

Veronica Stoneall, Writer/Zone Distributor

Veronica Stoneall, from Harrisburg, South Dakota, is a retired elementary art and music teacher. She loves painting portraits and large murals, writing stories and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of Prairie Hills Covenant church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

     
 
     

Ryan Underwood, Columnist

Ryan writes a column in Living Stones News for the Encounter Youth Center. He oversees the Head of the Lakes Chapter of Youth for Christ, based in Duluth, Minn. Head of the Lakes Youth for Christ operates several ministry programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, including the Encounter Youth Center in Duluth. He and his wife Liz live in Duluth, Minn. and have two young children. They attend Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. Ryan enjoys books, music, and technology, and recently started a company that films and produces video for weddings and other special events. Paul Walsh, Photographer

Paul has been a photographer with Living Stones News since the beginning in 2004. He was named the Ohio Newspaper Photographer of the Year 2002 by the Associated Press and has had photos published in both local and national papers including Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated and The Wall Street Journal. He is a contract photographer for The Associated Press. He also works part-time at a television station in Duluth as a photographer and a video editor. He photographs weddings, high school graduation portraits, aerial photos and various other freelance assignments. His website is http://www.weddingduluth.com/. Barb Wigg, Columnist

Barb has a teaching degree from Iowa State University and a master’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls. Barb has taught school for 26 years. She is a reading recovery teacher with the Sioux Falls School District. She is active in Christian Educators’ Association International and Child Evangelism Fellowship. Barb and her husband, Kent, have three children and six grandchildren. They attend Living Word Free Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
 

Kent Wigg, Writer/Columnist

Kent Wigg has a master’s of business administration degree from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor’s of science degree from Iowa State University in journalism and mass communication. He has worked 35 years in banking. He is a financial planner at Home Federal Bank in Sioux Falls, S.D. Kent and his wife, Barb, attend Living Word Free Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, S.D. They have three children and six grandchildren.
     
    
     

Kathy Yoder, Columnist

Kathy Yoder has written the Casting Pebbles column for Living Stones News since 2007. She has been a writer since the third grade, but it wasn't until God very specifically called her to a writing ministry that she experienced true joy and purpose in writing. She lives in Sioux City, Iowa and is a faith columnist and author.
